Day Two – Roncesvalles to Lassasoana

15.5 miles today – here’s the map:

It was very cool and drizzling all day long. But so, so beautiful. We saw many animals, which is so fun. We endured some steep climbs and treacherous rocky descents but handled it all. I feel a presence with us always (our Guardian Angels, without a doubt!). How else could we be doing what we are doing? Feet are still flawless all around (thank you to Dr. Nikki!) and we are feeling strong.

Every once in awhile we come across some interesting “markers” left by pilgrims ahead of us. We found this today:

Formed out of pine cones. Now WHO would take the time to do this? Just to tell us, ” Go this way!” My dear friend Sarah is just three days ahead of us (Doing great, I’ll add). She came across a homemade sign: “The best moment of the day is in the worst part of The Way.”

Tomorrow promises to be relatively flat. We’re gonna fly, baby!
